Fresh allegations have emerged in connection with the NIOS examination controversy, with reports that answer scripts were still being written nearly 24 hours after the examination had concluded. Acting on a tip-off, police from NCC Police Station raided a house in Nandan Nagar on Wednesday morning and detained three persons along with answer scripts from Tuesday’s examination. The raid has brought several new developments to light in the ongoing investigation into the alleged NIOS examination scandal.
Police launched an investigation soon after allegations of irregularities in the NIOS examination came to light. During the course of the investigation, the name of Bikram Debbarma surfaced. Among the three persons detained during Wednesday’s operation is a close relative of Bikram Debbarma, along with Prasanjit Debbarma, who is alleged to be an assistant agent associated with NIOS. However, Bikram Debbarma reportedly went into hiding before the police raid and is currently absconding.
It is learnt that Bikram Debbarma is employed at a government library. Police are examining his possible role in the alleged examination irregularities, as well as his links with other individuals connected to the case.
The incident has raised serious questions, particularly over how answer scripts could allegedly be written nearly 24 hours after the examination had ended. Investigators are also trying to establish who was writing the recovered answer scripts and whether an organised network was operating behind the alleged malpractice. Police are working to identify other individuals who may be involved in the case. As the investigation progresses, further details of the alleged NIOS examination scandal continue to emerge.
