BJP Fields Candidates in All 23 Udaipur Wards, Holds Rally Before Filing Nominations

With the Udaipur Municipal Council elections scheduled for November 27, political activity in the town is gradually gaining momentum. Various political parties have stepped up their campaigns to mobilise voters and demonstrate their organisational strength. In this backdrop, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a colourful rally across different parts of Udaipur town on Wednesday, showcasing its electoral preparedness with candidates from all 23 wards.

The rally was attended by all the party's nominated candidates from Wards 1 to 23, along with State Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Gomati Zilla Parishad chairperson Debal Debroy, Tripura Pradesh Mahila Morcha president Mousumi Das, Gomati district BJP president Sabita Nag and other elected representatives and party leaders. The presence of party leaders and candidates added to the political activity in the town. Through the rally, the BJP leadership sought to demonstrate its organisational preparedness and electoral strength ahead of the civic polls.

Following the rally, the BJP candidates proceeded to the office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Udaipur and submitted their nomination papers in accordance with the prescribed administrative procedures. The nomination papers were submitted to Returning Officer Tridib Sarkar, Jeklu Debbarma and other concerned officials.

Significantly, the BJP has fielded candidates in all 23 wards of the Udaipur Municipal Council, leaving no ward uncontested from its side. The ruling party is thus entering the electoral contest across the entire municipal council with candidates in every ward.

Meanwhile, the administration had made elaborate security arrangements around the Udaipur SDM office in view of the nomination process. Personnel from the State Police, Tripura State Rifles (TSR) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were deployed to prevent any untoward incident. The entire area remained under heightened surveillance, and the BJP candidates completed the nomination process under tight security.

With the November 27 polls approaching, attention is now focused on the preparations of other political parties and the level of competition they will bring to the electoral contest in Udaipur.
