DYFI Marks 47th Foundation Day, Jitendra Chaudhury Launches Sharp Attack on BJP Government

Agartala: The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) observed its 47th Foundation Day with a discussion meeting at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala, where Leader of the Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led state government over its alleged failure to fulfil promises made to the people, particularly the youth.

The meeting was attended by Jitendra Chaudhury, DYFI central leadership member Himoglag Bhattacharya, state leaders Nabarun Deb and Palash Bhowmik, along with other organisational leaders, activists and supporters.

The discussion focused on the organisation's longstanding struggles, the rights of young people, employment opportunities, education and the prevailing political situation in the state. Speakers also strongly criticised the present BJP government over various issues.

Alleging that the government had failed to meet public expectations despite making repeated promises, the speakers claimed that its functioning was largely dependent on false assurances and publicity. They also accused the government of failing to take effective measures to address unemployment, the shortage of job opportunities and the various problems faced by ordinary people.

The speakers asserted that DYFI would continue its movements and struggles across the state to safeguard the future of the youth and uphold democratic rights. The foundation day meeting also called upon the organisation's leaders and activists to strengthen their unity and build a broader movement in defence of young people's interests.

The programme has once again brought the role of youth organisations and the opposition's criticism of the state government's employment policies into the political spotlight.
